Stefan Hale, professional drummer, head teacher

Stefan teaches drum lessons online via Skype and Zoom

Stefan has over 20 years experience teaching, performing, and directing shows in the music industry.

Following studies at both of London’s top music universities; The British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM) and The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP), Stefan has drummed and directed performances at stadium sporting events, been featured on national and international TV and radio, and played sold out runs at London’s top theatres.

Stefan’s previous performances include, the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony, ITV’s Paul O’Grady Show, and the Champions League Final at Wembley Stadium

Stefan has also extensively toured around the UK and Europe, collaborated with Basement Jaxx and shared the stage with bands such as The Beach Boys, Toploader, and Madness.

Joe Newton, professional guitarist

Joe teaches guitar at our East Dulwich location

Joe is a professional guitarist, songwriter and media composer who has been playing acoustic and electric guitar for over twenty years. He regularly gigs at venues across London as one half of the acoustic duo Silen' Jimm.

Joe studied Music and Composition for Film and Television at the University of Bristol and has composed music for short films, video games, theatre productions and music libraries. Lessons with Joe come with the added bonus of his deep knowledge of music theory and his passion for music-making. As well as developing his students' technical skills, he fosters their creativity and encourages them to find and follow their own musical passions.

Stefan Macierewicz, professional drummer

With over 13 years of experience behind the kit, Stefan specialises in helping students of all levels build their drumming skills through personalised, fun, and focused lessons. Whether you’re picking up sticks for the first time or looking to sharpen your technique, Stefan will guide you every step of the way - covering everything from foundational rhythms to advanced techniques and styles. 

Originally from Sheffield, Stefan relocated to London to study and follow his passion for music. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance and Production from the London College of Contemporary Music (LCCM) and has since established himself as an active session musician in and around the London music scene.

Stefan's performance experience includes playing with the Beefeater's Drumline at the London Cabaret Club for the King’s and Queen’s Shows in 2023, as well as appearances at notable festivals such as Tramlines, Victorious, YNOT and Truck Festival on the Main Stage in 2024. He has also performed live alongside Jeff Wootton (of Gorillaz) and Drew McConnell (bassist for Babyshambles and Liam Gallagher).

Manuel Filgueiras, professional drummer

Manuel teaches drums at our East Dulwich location

Manuel is a drummer, band leader, and educator.

A Portuguese native, Manuel started drumming at the age of 11 and after attending the Jobra School for the Performing Arts he pursued a career and further studies in London, where he graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Experienced in a variety of styles, Manuel can be found performing regularly across London and beyond. He is also an experienced educator having lectured in a variety of institutions including Middlesex University.

Cameron Ford, professional drummer

Cameron teaches drums at both our East Dulwich, and Camberwell locations

Introducing Cameron, a seasoned drum teacher with ten years of experience. A BIMM London graduate, Cameron specializes in pop, rock, jazz, and funk styles.

Beyond teaching, he regularly takes the stage around the UK, lending his dynamic drumming skills to live performances with a number of emerging artists, enriching his students' learning with real-world musical experience.

Beyond live performances and personalised lessons, Cameron brings a studio dimension to his musical repertoire. With a knack for recording drums in the studio, he adds a dynamic layer to his multifaceted approach, offering students a comprehensive understanding of the music industry.

Cameron tailors each lesson to the specific needs and learning styles of his students, ensuring a unique and effective musical journey for every individual.

Pavel Ljubicic, professional drummer

Pavel teaches drums at our East Dulwich location

Pavel is a London-based drummer hailing from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

With a deep devotion to music, Pavel has ventured into multiple genres, encompassing hard rock, progressive rock, heavy/progressive/thrash metal, pop, indie, and more. Throughout his career, he has engaged in session work, leaving his mark on albums, EP's, and singles for artists from around the world, spanning the UK, Portugal, Italy, the Czech Republic, France, USA and beyond.

Pavel is a graduate of BIMM University, where he completed a degree in Popular Music Performance & Event Management (BA). Since graduating, he has been actively playing live in the UK and Europe.

His drumming journey continues to evolve through live performance, studio work, and ongoing musical exploration. With a deep-rooted love for music, combined with a modern, versatile approach, Pavel brings power, precision, and musicality to every stage he steps onto.

Matt Foster, professional drummer

Matt teaches drums at our Camberwell location

Matt has played the drums for over 20 years, and has 17+ years of teaching experience. The son of a professional drummer, Matt has been holding drumsticks for as long he can remember. He’s played in everything from big bands to marching bands, wind ensembles to rock bands, and has been gigging professionally since he was 16 years old.

After completing his university jazz program in Canada, Matt spent several years performing around the world in orchestras on cruise ships, sight-reading shows daily, playing multiple styles, and leading bands as Musical Director and Band Master.
